I have never been a headband girl. I really have never been into the bohemian trend, but this season, headbands are making a bold statement and I just cannot resist them. The new headband is really less Boho and more glam than ever before. Most of them feature unique statement details such as sparkles and lace. The new twist is to wear the headband across your forehead. It is daring, I admit, but extremely cute and irresistible. I recently purchased a gold band by Free People that has a slight shimmer to it. It is adorable and I receive compliments on it from everyone I meet. I pair it with everything from t-shirts and jeans to blouses and tunic dresses. It is the ultimate accessory because it is impossible to miss. The band sits only a few inches above my eyebrows, so it is the first thing that people notice when they look at me. I usually like to fly below the radar, sporting serious fashion in the most subtle of ways. This trend is more pronounced than I usually am comfortable with, but believe me; it is perfect for the Holiday Season. I encourage you to try it for yourself. I noticed a girl wearing black denim leggings and fabulous purple boots on a TV show last week. I spent the next evening searching for the exact pair online. I couldn’t find them. Her ensemble, though, led me to a new fashion desire. Purple suede boots with fringe down the side. Boots of this nature are the kind that are loved and adored by their owner for one or two seasons, (when the style is a hit), then – tossed into a garage sale years later and un-sold even at the price of two dollars. But I don’t mind. The thought of my very own pair of purple fringe boots is too appealing to ignore. I dream that I would pair them with textured tights, a black t-shirt tunic and a gray boyfriend cardigan. Or, maybe I would tuck skinny jeans into them and throw on a blazer and graphic t-shirt. Fur in fashion has always represented luxury and class. Controversies surrounding wearable fur have led designers to find a new approach on the same style.
