wintermini

As I peruse the Fall and Winter collections, I am humored by how many mini-dresses there are. I have always known that fashion designers pay little attention to the mid-western climate when sketching their pieces, but it seems that every year the temperatures become colder and the fashion less obliging. Of course, it wouldn’t be cutting-edge fashion if it didn’t involve risk. This is what separates true fashion-istas from the rest of the world – body heat. And minis aren’t worn everyday (unless you want to wear one everyday – and to that I say “You go Girl!!”), mostly for special occasions. And, we all know that for special occasions it is entirely appropriate to freeze. All kidding aside, the dresses for Fall/Winter are beyond fabulous. Staying with the interesting/eclectic vibe, styles are embellished, funky and incredibly feminine all at the same time. Tights and over the knee boots seem to be the pairing for these winter minis. Boyfriend blazers are being tossed over the shoulders in place of wraps and cardigans. Dresses aren’t only for evening, there are many mini sweater dress styles and soft, cotton t-shirt options for a more casual occasions. Happy Shopping, Ladies!
