Of course the classic boot cut is perfect for every body type! It gives the body a great balance. But if you are a little top heavy, a floor grazing bootcut jean will definitely help balance out your lower half!

Some of the fall styles we are embracing this season are skinny cargo’s, military jackets, chunky cardigans, flowy blouses, oxford shoes, and clogs. Its all about mixing feminine touches with unexpected elements, for example the oxford shoe is everywhere! The oxford shoe is paired with skirts, trousers, leggings and of course denim, big leather cuffs worn with a frilly blouse and with all this mixing and matching, don’t forget to throw into the mix the key layering piece - the blazer! Well of course it depends on what is on the weekend agenda, between work, family, and horses my weekend uniform can vary day to day, hour by hour! However, I do have my go to items for the season. The moment the weekend hits I am ready for my Hudson shorts and summer tees, I never forget my Ray Ban sunglasses and usually run about in my flo jos flip flops. Those items are of course for the casual Saturdays, I never pass up an opportunity to wear a new little flirty summer dress for my rare date nights with my husband. Also one note worthy piece of my weekend uniform is accessories… I always have a great necklace and earrings on, whether I am sunning poolside, running with kids, or riding my good ‘ol horse. Amazing and lovely are the dresses of Summer!
The jb and me girls always reach for dresses on those hot humid days when dressing seems to be a bit of a struggle. It gives you instant style with out a lot of fuss! Not to mention that dresses give you a cool breezy feel for those days when you need a little extra wiggle room. Our recommendation is if style doesn’t come all that easy for you and you need to dress to impress, throw on a dress and a great little sandal and don’t forget your smile and you are sure to impress all those you encounter for the day.
Also one important rule of thumb is if you have a dress that may be a bit clingy you don’t want to forget those Spanx or Yummie Tummy to Layer underneath! So as many of you know I have a bit of a cowgirl flare in my style persona! I love love love jeans and I especially love them with abrasions and holes in them. I probably shouldn’t forget to tell you that I am obsessed with burnout, especially white burnout! I actually am wearing one now as I am creating this entry. Oh the joys of smelling the greasy foods pouring out from the food booths, seeing little ones in strollers with sticky cotton candy all over their sweet little faces, hearing the screams from the rides at the carnival, but most importantly taking a step back in time watching our Dutch Dancers in all their splendor. It is a beautiful time for Holland MI the Tulips in full bloom in their vast cheery shades. If you haven’t yet been Downtown Holland during Tulip Time it is something you must see! Today we are having our second Parade of the week and my two little ones who are 6 and 8 years old are marching in their most adorable Dutch costumes! So why the style crush you ask, well just try to find another place in the United States the celebrates their Dutch Heritage with such enthusiasm, creativity, and pride!
I am so excited to share this new line of jewelry that jb and me just received in-store and online! It is hand designed by artist Kate Mesta, she lives and works in Laguna Beach, California. Her designs are made on Dog Tags that boast a vintage style and inspirational appeal. They are truly a work of art. I love layering them together with all of my other silver chains. It seems to always catch peoples eye! So not only does she do amazing Dog Tag Necklaces but she also makes these really cool Leather Cuffs! If you haven’t noticed, leather cuffs are all the rage right now. These leather cuffs have a stamped band and a metal inspirational plate, bringing them a style all their own. Its mixing the style elements of “tomboy” and “femininity” that makes this jewelry work so well. Kate is an artist that wants her work to make each person feel original and unique.
